Our podiatric medical practice has an immediate need for an organized, reliable Medical Assistant. The successful candidate will be responsible for fulfilling a myriad of administrative and medical duties and will provide in-room patient care, a wide array of medical testing, podiatric maintenance care, and medical charting along with cross training in billing support, scheduling, coding, patient liaising and filing. We’re looking for a team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment, who wants to grow professionally, and who enjoys working directly with people. Role and Responsibilities
Assist patients in and out of the exam/treatment room
Conduct vascular, neurological, musculoskeletal exams while documenting the encounter properly according to regulations
Perform podiatric maintenance to include nail care, callus trimming, and whirlpool therapy, among others
Handle patients in a medical environment
Keep documentation with every visit and maintain patient’s files up to date
Acknowledge and respond to relevant customer queries, needs and expectations
Suggest and promote activities, retail products or additional services for the benefits of the patients
Uphold hygiene standards and follow health and safety regulations
Cooperate with and report to administration on any arising issues
Be flexible and assume responsibilities outside of your job description on a temporary basis to keep the practice operating seamlessly for the patient experience
Requirements
Qualifications and Education Requirements
Must be willing and able to learn quickly on the job
User level computer skills, G-Mail, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint; ability to learn additional job-related software
Fluent in English reading/writing.
Professional and courteous disposition.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Compassionate towards patients undergoing foot treatment with the ability to reassure them.
Positive attitude, ability to work in a team-oriented workplace and follow office processes.
Excellent time management skills.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
Post-high school degree from an accredited medical institution preferred.
Medical Assistant Certificate from an accredited professional school preferred.
Ability to read medical notes and file documents accordingly preferred.
Medical office experience
Proficiency in Russian language is a plus
Additional Notes
Will receive initial training for the instrumentation and job-related activities followed by on-the-job training
Bonuses paid out monthly based on performance
