Podiatrists and COVID-19
In the era of COVID-19, we all must take actions to keep ourselves and each other safe. For some who find themselves in a higher risk category, venturing outside can be a daunting task. At Magdalena Blasko, DPM, Inc., we want to do our part to help educate the public and and show everyone that as long as you are taking certain precautions, and making sure the places you visit are doing the same, it is safe to return to a somewhat normal routine.
What does San Francisco look like today?
Simply put, San Francisco has done a tremendous job controlling the outbreak. As of June 13th, the county has tested 95,638 people or which 2,906 have tested positive. This means that in San Francisco, 3% of the population has tested positive. The total number of deaths due to COVID-19 is 44. This means that the disease in San Francisco has a mortality rate of 1.5%. Although no death statistic should be celebrated, we can take some comfort knowing that we have done our part to bring that number as low as possible.
What should you do to keep yourself safe?
Some quick facts about the coronavirus:
You can check out more videos like this at San Francisco's Youtube Channel by following this link.
The health and safety of our community is our top priority. As the city slowly begins to reopen, we are here to help you stay safe while also supporting your mental and physical well-being. Before having social interactions, assess the risks and benefits, as outlined in the city's guidance. sf.gov/safersocializing
When going outside, make sure to have some kind of face covering. It’s easy to create your own. You can use any cloth, like a bandana, scarf or t-shirt. Make sure to cover your nose and mouth. Protect yourself so you can protect others. For more information on what the city requires, you can visit their website here. https://sf.gov/facecoverings
Part of our efforts also must include social distancing. Social distancing is where people keep 6 feet apart from each other as much as possible. While this is difficult to do, face coverings help mitigate the risk associated with getting within 6 feet to conduct medical examinations.
How are we helping to keep you safe?
At Magdalena Blasko, DPM, Inc. We have taken specific measures to make sure our place of business operates as safely as possible while providing our patients with the critical care they need.
Right when you first come up to our business, you will see helpful information about the coronavirus posted on our front door. We do this to make sure you have all the information necessary to make an informed decision on whether to enter our business or not.
Once inside, we make sure to keep everyone socially distanced as much as possible. We try to help you stay safe by offering visual indicators on where people should be sitting while in our waiting room. If you see that a chair is out of place, let us know so we can fix it. The health and safety of our patients is our top priority.
And lastly, all our staff will be wearing face coverings and sanitizing surfaces throughout the day. While we already keep our area as sterile as possible being a medical office, we are going above and beyond to do our part to help slow the spread of the virus.
